Pressure switches are for both checking the water level in the tub and heating the water at the right time.
A faulty pressure switch sends the wrong data to the motherboard and therefor your washing machine's programme will not be optimal. For example, it could happen that the water level is too high or too low. If this is the case, the tub may start overflowing when it fills or conversely may not fill up enough.
If, at the point when the programme should start, nothing happens even though the lights on the washing machine indicate that everything is working properly, it may well be the pressure switch that is at fault.
If you notice that the laundry has not been spun properly and has been badly washed, check whether your pressure switch is in a good state or not.
