The wine cooler beeps or flashes continuously, what should I check?

If your wine cooler keeps flashing or beeping incessantly it is trying to communicate with you! This is worrying, and that’s normal because you fear for the proper preservation of your precious bottles of wine! Keep calm and read this how-to guide to understand what’s going wrong.
THE CAUSES FOR THIS ISSUE:
WARNING
Before you do anything to your appliance, make sure you disconnect it from the power supply.
There is a risk of electric shock.
Wear suitable gloves if you carry out dismantling.
Risk of cuts.
An electronic bug
Faced with a wine cooler that thinks it is a Christmas tree, the first step is to try a reset. Do this by unplugging your wine cabinet from the electricity. Wait half an hour, sufficient time to enjoy a good glass of wine. Then reconnect your equipment and see if anything has changed. Sometimes, a simple electronic bug can disrupt the operation of a household appliance. Unplugging it will act as a "reset" and this is often enough to erase a fault from the machine’s electronic memory.
A poor location for the wine cooler
What room did you install your wine cooler in? This small detail is of great importance to ensure its proper functioning. Be aware that a wine cabinet will not be able to regulate its temperature properly if it is confronted with temperatures that are too low or conversely too high! For example, it should never be exposed to the sun or in an uninsulated garage when the temperature drops below freezing. Similarly, during a heatwave, it is not abnormal for your equipment to suffer as it struggles to stay cool. We too could use some air conditioning in the summer! If it is not possible to relocate the machine, try temporarily moving your device to the least warm room of your home.
The flashing corresponds to an error code
If despite previous checks, the flashing of one or more LEDs persists the device may be signaling a true fault. We invite you to consult the instructions for your equipment; specifically, to look up the fault code list. Generally, you will find the interpretation of the fault code against the element(s) to be checked.
The wine cooler is not at the right temperature
When your wine fridge sounds an audible alarm, or flashes, this may indicate a temperature problem. First, check the airtightness of your cellar by inspecting the door seals. They must not look peeling, worn or porous. Change them if necessary. Second, a saturated carbon filter can interfere with the proper cooling of your wine cabinet. It is advisable to change the filter(s) every 6 months to guarantee optimal storage conditions. Third, the thermostat is defective. In this case, the household appliance will no longer be able to maintain the requested temperature and it will indicate this with a flashing or beeping alarm. Start by changing the thermostat setting so that the cellar cools down more. If this doesn’t change anything, it’s likely that the thermostat is faulty.
