THE POTENTIAL CAUSES OF THIS ISSUE :

The electrical outlet is out of order
If your Plancha makes the electricity meter trip every time you plug it into the mains, the wall outlet may be to blame. To test your device, plug it into a different outlet. If it works, this confirms that the socket concerned is faulty, if not, proceed to the next check.
The power cord is worn
It is important to check that the power socket of your Plancha does not show signs of wear or tear. A visual check of the cable and plug will quickly identify any anomalies. If any are found buy a new power cord.
The heating coil is malfunctioning
The coil is the heating element of the device that is usually located under the plate. A defective one can cause a short circuit and the disconnection of your electrical appliance. To find out, test it using a multimeter set to the ohmmeter position. To do this, place a tip of the tester on each of the terminals of the heating element. If you don’t get any value or a reading of 1, it confirms that the coil is failing. Some models are composed of two heating elements, so it will be necessary to carry out the test on both parts. It is also good to verify that your coil is not leaking by placing one of the two tips on a lug of the coil, and the other tip anywhere on the heating element. If a value is displayed, it is leaking and will need to be replaced.
